BMW: The Official Car of Generation Z

Well, at least it is for my family!

It happened one dark morning on a Fall Princeton NJ highway( sounds like a scary movie), at 5:36 am, my mother receives a call from my identical twin sisters.
(Yes, my mom sleeps with her phone).
They are on speaker phone, my Mother hears them sobbing but through their tears she hears them say, “we are ok” but we hit a deer on the highway on our way to class.
I get that they are in Seniors in college but who goes to class that early?
Turns out they go in extra early to get help with one of their subjects.
Not something I would do..lol

Anyway, back to the deer, I mean, my sisters.

My mother is devastated, but keeps her cool.
Cool, meaning she begins to drill my sisters, are you hurt? Are you sure?
How do you know if you are hurt, you are in shock? Are you in the middle of the highway? Are you safe? Is the car smoking? Did the airbags deploy?
Where is the deer? How badly do you think you hit the deer?
Like did it come up on the hood?
And a ton of other questions…

My sisters are crying, but able to tell my mother, they called 911 before they contacted her & they are on their way but the State police have to come because they are on a highway. Ok well it’s been 15 minutes already & no police.
But that’s another blog..

My sister says she pulled over to the side of highway after hitting deer as the car was still able to be driven. She said they were parked & locked in & safe & the only thing showing up on the dashboard was an alert saying, “right head light out”, or something like that.
My mother feels relieved, ok, she says to my sister, you must have just clipped the deer on the side near your right headlamp.

My sister, very shook up & sobbing over the thought of hurting the deer.
My mother understands this but is trying to focus on my sisters well being at this present time.
My sister then proceeds to say, “I can’t get the vision out of my head, the deer like came up on the hood and over the car.”
Now my mom is freaking out, but evidently my sisters seem ok.
The police arrive while my mother is on speaker phone with my sisters.

My mom hears the officer lean in & tell my sister, “it’s ok, you don’t have to cry!”
Wait, what?
My sister just hit a deer on a pitch black highway while driving 60mph, she’s pretty devastated. Of course she is going to be crying.

The officer checks out the car, doesn’t call for an ambulance, so my mother figures this was really no big accident, nothing to freak out about.
The officer calls a tow truck & waits with the girls.
Literally 7 min later, my sister says, ok mom the tow truck guy is here, I’ll call u back.

With no warning, my mother receives a pic on her phone of our white BMW 328i Xdrive.

The pic is of their BMW up on a flatbed tow truck, completely totaled & barely recognizable!
My mother freaks out!!
Calls my sister screaming…
“Omg, that is how badly you hit the deer?!
you need to get right to the hospital to be checked out immediately!”

“Your father & I are on our way!”

While my parents are on their way to the hospital my mom receives another pic.

It is a picture of my twin sisters laying in a tiny emergency room bed together, looking happy & as silly as ever.

Wait, who asks a Dr in a hospital to take a pic of them in an Emergency room bed?
I’ll tell you,
Generation Zers!
That’s who!

While car searching a few years ago, all my mother was looking for was a nice safe car.
