How to market to the digital natives of Generation Z

Is your company having a difficult time reaching the Generation Z market?

Take Generation Z seriously

We are not just teenagers – Gen Z ARE CONSUMERS. We have access to serious disposable income!

What Marketers Should know about the Generation Z market

By 2020, Gen-Z will make up 40% of all consumers, and as of right now 93% of parents say their Gen Z kids influence family spending decisions and household purchases. Generation Z receive also average about$16.90 per week in allowance, or $44 billion a year.

Gen-Z isn’t anti-brand. We are just anti-filters. Don’t market to us.  Share with us, and let us find you.

60% of Gen Z’ers believe that having a lot of money is a sign of success. So that means, we are also very concerned with finding good deals on how we spend our money, to make sure we can save as much as we can. We want to have things, but also want to save money so we can be successful.

We are looking for the best deal and the best way to spend our money (and our parent’s money).

Generation Z want the best products and to buy from the companies that are going to support our values. Gen-Z wants transparency and authenticity from brands. We research where we make our purchases, and buy from companies that are doing things that we support. Maybe that is supporting a greener environment, or helping homeless youth. Having a mission as a company can go a long way as a brand in a Gen Z’ers eyes – way farther than which basketball player is in your commercial that we watch the 5 seconds count down on YouTube before we can hit skip!

Generation Z has an attention Span of only 8 seconds!

Generation Z uses their mobile devices more than desktops or TVs. We prefer face to face interactions over texting.  Social media interaction is still important, but we are on Youtube, Snapchat & Instagram.  Not Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn!  Make a Video! Get to your point in the first 8 seconds, or you lost us. Tell us a story, don’t just be another ad.
