Why Influencers Matter to Gen Z

hire influencers to market to Gen Z

Our celebrities today are creating daily “content“. http://www.adweek.com/digital/fullscreens-research-finds-gen-z-enjoys-branded-content-more-than-millennials/

They are posting daily vlogs for us to watch, and btw, I’m still waiting for Google to recognize the word “Vlog/vlogger/vlogging” as a word and stop trying to autocorrect it to “blog, blogging, blogger”.
It took forever for them to allow the word blog, please don’t take much more time allowing the word “vlog/vlogs” to the No autocorrect pile. It’s so annoying having to fix it all the time.

Our generation doesn’t read tangible magazines to stay up to date with our celebrities.

Today we have “influencers” as our celebrities who tell us about themselves directly good and bad, through social media outlets.
We don’t have to find out gossip or bad things about them in those terrible magazines that make up fake mean stories just so people will buy them.

Our influencers tell us they won’t be around for a few days because they lost their dog to an illness & are in mourning. We understand & feel for them as we prob saw their dog in one or more of their vlogs. They tell us when their kids birthdays are & may share a clip of the party. They show us their proposal to their girlfriends & their walk through of the new house they just bought.
They show us their cars and tell us their feelings toward why they sold the last car because the payments were to expensive & now they have a family & have different priorities.

So, we won’t need to hear any dirt from those magazines much longer as even our Old time celebrities are sharing their info on Social Media as well.
Everyone is starting to share openly about themselves regarding tons of things going on in their lives.

Sharing is human nature & it’s a way to feel closer to someone, to empathize & connect with them.
That is what generation Z gets from watching you tube, a feeling of closeness to their influencers. A welcomed front seat into their lives. And it keeps us tuning in for more.
My mom says it’s like a live “soap opera”. No idea what that even is but, ok.

So when you companies & brands are thinking about creating new ad content, you must keep these “influencers” in mind.

They don’t have to be the top 10 influencers as there are tons that have tens of thousands or even a few hundred thousand subscribers.

Those are not bad numbers.  You can use someone like Rosenberg the dog. For like Petsmart, Petco or petmd ads etc.
Gen Z consumers relate to influencers

Trust me when I tell you, your influencer will make all the difference to your ads.

  1. This is fantastic! And I would love to watch commercials with interesting influencers. We are so sick of having to watch those same terrible commercials on Netflix etc
